Fall 

There will be several practices during the month of September.  These practices will be used to get to know each other as a team and set up the Whitecap Way.

Off-Season Program

Starting in October, a flexible, focused Off-Season Training Program will be offered to all Whitecaps Baseball players and is open to the general public. Sessions include training in pitching, hitting, catching and overall athletic conditioning.  Whitecaps player fees do not include this program but Whitecaps players will receive a discounted rate on their sessions. This program is not required for players but coaches strongly recommend participation, as the players who participate have a baseball-ready edge once team practices begin in January.

Winter Practices 

There will be indoor practices per week starting in January and will move outdoors when weather allows.  The head coaches of each team will lead these practices. Parents are welcome to stay and lend a hand during these drills.  

Spring and Summer--(Regular Season)

Our practices will move outdoors as soon as the weather and field conditions permit.  We will practice, scrimmage or play a league game at least 2 times per week. This will help us focus on the development of the player’s skills by using mass repetitions during practices, while gaining important situational game play experience as well.

League Play:  Games are during the week and may or may not take the place of a practice day.

Tournaments: We will sign up for 5 – 8 tournaments per team depending on teams’ overall schedules.

The season will typically end in the middle of July.  Please plan camps and vacations after the 20th of July.

Whitecaps Baseball Volunteer and Fundraising Opportunities

Whitecaps Baseball is a volunteer non-profit organization run by a volunteer Board of Directors.  The successes of its programs largely rest on the tireless efforts of volunteers. It is the goal of Whitecaps Baseball is to have every family volunteer and fundraise to help with the operation and overall improvement of the organization.  With that being said, we understand that not all families have the time available to volunteer and for those families we offer a volunteer buyout option.  

A $200 volunteer fee and a $200 volunteer fee is built directly into player fees.  Our goal is to refund all fees. The organization would rather have your time and fundraising efforts than the fees.  Refunds of fees earned back with volunteering and/or fundraising will be made at the end of the season. If you do not volunteer and/or fundraise, you will receive a tax deductible donation letter for up to $400 at the end of the season.

Fundraising consists of two coffee sales annually and other opportunities may become available.

Volunteer positions include:

  • Board Member, by invitation from club president only
  • Team Positions (manager, scorekeeper, field prep, etc)
  • Indoor Facilities Outdoor Facilities
  • Dining Out Fundraiser Coordinator
  •  Sponsorship
  • Coffee Sale Coordinator
  • Silent Auction Coordinator
  •  Tryout Volunteers
  •  Team Pictures Coordinator

Sponsorships

Families may earn back part of player fees by securing sponsorships for the organization by receiving 50% of each sponsorship back towards player fees.  For example, bringing a $500 sponsorship to the organization will result in a $250 refund on player fees. Additional details on this program are available upon request.

Fees 

  • $1900 per player composed of the following:
    $475, non-refundable deposit due upon offering of player position on the team
    $475 due October 1
    $475 due November 1
    $475 due December 1
  • All fees must be paid in full for player to begin team practices in January.  Players fees for late registration will only be prorated after February 1 and will only be prorated for practice time missed.
  • Families with more than one player will pay the full fee for one player and additional players will be $1500, reducing the full free by the family volunteer and fundraising fees.

For All Registrations

  • Late payments will incur a $50 late payment fee

  • Uniforms are not included in player fees

  • October through December Off-Season Training is paid separately from player fees
