What Do I Need To Coach Football?


Background Check

All volunteers must successfully pass a background check with their association before ANY participation in team events.  For more information regarding the background for your association, please contact your park commissioner.

Register online for your ID Badge and submit your passport style photo.  Photos must confirm to US Passport requirements.  Photos without a solid background or photos that contain hats and or sunglasses will be rejected.

USA Football

All football coaches must be certified for Heads Up Football with USA Football before participating in any team practice or event.  Heads Up certification is completed online by visiting the USA Football website.  Heads Up certification is a one year certification that must be renewed every year.


Team Parents

Team parents must have passed a background check with their association, register online for an ID badge.   Team parents are not required to have a USA Football certification.

CPR/First Aid

All teams MUST have at least one person on their roster with a valid certification in CPR and First Aid.  Teams are encourage to have at least 2 volunteers on the team roster with CPR and First Aid certification as no team may practice or play in a game without having CPR or First Aid certified volunteer in attendance.
