WMNT Advance to World Cup Final

The U.S. Women's national team in a spectacular match win over England by a score of 2-1 advances to the FIFA 2019 Women's World Cup Final were they will play the Netherlands on Sunday June, 7th at 10:00am eastern.  The two goals from the U.S. came in the 9th minute and the 30th minute.  The first goal off of a header by Kristen Press who received a fantastic cross from Kelley O'Hara and the go ahead goal in the 30th minute off another header by Alex Morgan from a great assist from Lindsay Horan.  The game was very tight and physical in the second half with many fouls committed and actually led to a red card for one of England's players.  The game might have very well been sealed in the 80th minute when the USA committed a foul in the box to give England a chance for the equalizer with a penalty shot, but Alyssa Naeher came up with the save of her life to keep the our side in the lead.  Naeher also becomes the first U.S. women's goalie to block a penalty shot in the Women's World Cup.  With this win the US Women's national team becomes the first nation to reach three consecutive Women's World Cup finals.  Best of luck on Sunday, we will all be cheering you on!
