Things to Know
- What is it and who is involved?
DPRD Spring T-ball league and Coach Pitch is a non-competitive program focused on fun, fitness, and fundamentals where players are first introduced to the basics of baseball and softball.
DPRD Spring T-ball and Coach Pitch League is brought to you by Detroit Parks and Recreation Department and is offered to youth ages 4-10 who are interested in participating through a Detroit Recreation Center
OPENING DAY IS Thursday, July 11th and the season will run through Aug 15th.
Game will be played on Thursdays.
- What DPRD will be providing
- Coaches - Play leaders
- Uniforms (Jersey, Pants, Hat & Socks)
- Equipment – Practice field, balls, bats & batting helmets
- Game Day Playing Fields, Tee, Bases, Umpire & Maintenance
- Medals
- Transportation for game day
ALL GAMES will be played on Thursdays at Kemeny, and Jayne Field with 6p or 7p start times. The number of practices per week will be determined by your coach and practices will be at your recreation center.

Register at one of the following Detroit Recreation Centers during normal hours of operation:
Adams Butzel, Butzel Family Center, Coleman A. Young, Clemente, Crowell, Farwell, Kemeny, Heilmann, Lasky, Patton and Williams
Registration Fee $35
REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS June 26th, 2020
- What else does your child need to play t-ball or Coach Pitch?
- ■Baseball or Softball glove. Cleats are optional; however, players have better traction on the field. If you purchase cleats, THEY MUST BE SOFT RUBBER CLEATS. NO METAL OR HARD PLASTIC CLEATS ALLOWED
- Team Structure and number of games per team
Co-ed ages 4-7 (maximum 15 players) T-Ball
Co-ed ages 8 -10 (maximum 15 players) Coach Pitch
- When & where will games and practices be held?
Volunteers are vital for a smooth running league. You can assist as a coach, team manager, or event assistant.
