Club America Nido Aguila Soccer Academy

Meet Our Board

Teresa has been involved with soccer most of her life, having played throughout her teen years and always wanting to be involved as much as possible.  One of her first of many recurring encounters with her husband, was at a soccer tournament where they were both playing.

She is an AYSO certified Referee as well as U8 coach certified.  She has also held a board position on her local AYSO Region since 2016, which is listed as 1 of the top 5 largest regions in the nation, and has been named as a Layton City Hometown Hero for her involvement.

She has two sons and a daughter who are all actively involved in the sport, as well as acting as team MOMager and moral support for her husband who's passion for the sport runs deeper than anything else.

Teresa hopes to create fond memories of the sport for every player who chooses to be involved, even if only for a portion of their 'growing up'.

Teresa Rodriguez, Board Member

Brandon has been involved with soccer his entire life, as a player, as a coach, and as an administrator.  He has played at every level even internationally for a short time.  After his playing career ended he settled down in Layton with his wife, Teresa, and they have 3 kids.  He began coaching them as soon as they were old enough to play and served as the Layton AYSO Region 239 Regional Commissioner and Regional Coaching Administrator.

Brandon's passion for the beautiful game continues as the Executive Technical Director for the

Club América Nido Águila Soccer Academy, Layton.

Brandon holds a USSF C License, USSF Grassroots License, multiple AYSO certifications and awards, as well as numerous United Soccer Coaches (formerly NSCAA) diplomas.

In the rare moments when he is not training, coaching or refereeing, you can find him spending quality time with his family.

Brandon Rodriguez, Director of Coaching

Mike is a proud native of Bend, Oregon. He and his wife Robin have lived in Layton for the last 15 years, after relocating from Denver, CO. They have two amazing girls that joined the club in the fall of 2019 and have been continuing to develop under the outstanding coaches within the organization.

Mike became involved in soccer when he received the email stating a coach was needed for his oldest daughters' team. The next day,  Mike volunteered to coach and became highly involved with Layton AYSO holding many different volunteer positions including referee, division coordinator and assistant commissioner, before eventually becoming Commissioner of Layton AYSO.  At the end of his term as Layton AYSO's commissioner, Mike was nominated and elected to run AYSO Area 9R - AYSO's regional management structure that incorporated regions from Farmington, UT to Star Valley, WY.  He was also recently named '2020 Volunteer of the Year' by Layton City's Parks and Recreation Department.

He hopes that bringing his extensive experience in the northern Utah soccer community will help grow Nido Aguila Utah and improve the overall soccer experience for coaches, players and their families.

Mike Trent, Board Member

Robin Trent has been a volunteer for AYSO Layton since her husband became involved with the program several years ago. She has helped keep her husband's ideas on track and on budget and has supported the soccer community as much as she can. Whatever her role in volunteering Robin is able to keep others on track, on budget and on time. She loves to be organized! Robin wants to continue her support with a club in which she believes will grow and support young players for years to come. She believes that with the right people and the right ideas Club America will flourish.
