There have been a lot of questions about Spring/Summer soccer.  Here are answers to the most frequently asked questions.

When are games and practices?
Games and practices are on weeknights.  We will not know a game schedule until the end of April.  Younger ages typically have 1 practice and 1 game each week and older levels may have 2 practices plus a game.  Early in the season (end of March into April) there will be opportunities for indoor practices as communicated by the team coaches. *Tentatively planned playing nights are in the comments of this post*

How many games are in a season?
8-10 with an equal number of home and away games. The season runs April 27-July 3

Are there any weekend commitments?
Most teams do one tournament which usually falls on a weekend

It says some travel may be required, but what is the max distance?
Currently our travel max is supposed to be 1 hour 30 minutes but the club is working to reduce this and unfortunately we can make NO guarantees on travel since we do not schedule the games.

My child is 8 can they play?
Yes.  The teams are listed by year of birth and the youngest bracket is 9U but 8 year olds also fall into this bracket (I know confusing but I don't make the rules)

What can my child do if they too young for this league?
There is a summer program available through community education available to younger children. More info to come on that.

What is the uniform cost?
We are getting new uniforms this year which will cost $110.  This includes 2 jerseys (a white and a purple) a pair of shorts and 1 pair of socks.

Is there other equipment that I will need to purchase?
Players are expected to have a soccer ball, shin guards and soccer cleats

Are there scholarships available?

When does registration close?
The end of February.

WHY does registration close so early?
Teams have to be submitted to our governing body (MYSA) by MARCH 9th.  So we realize there may still be snow on the ground but be thinking SOCCER NOW!
