It is with the utmost pleasure and pride that I share the news that PA D14’s own Bill Bruce, of Dillsburg Little League,  has been selected for the  highest honor that can be bestowed on a LL Umpire – an assignment to umpire the LLWS in Williamsport for the 2023 LLWS in August.

Bill has been a dedicated LL Umpire , and Volunteer at Dillsburg for 24 years, serving on the board as UIC,  and has dedicated countless hours both on the field and off.  He has been instrumental in developing and maintaining one of the strongest Junior Umpire programs in District 14 and has served as a role model and mentor for not only those young umpires but for many of the “Men in Blue”  across the District.

For those of you who have seen Bill umpire you know that he has a way of making the environment for the players fun and relaxing.  I often wonder who is having more fun the kids or Bill!

Bill – your dedication to the game, the community, District 14, Little League and most notably the kids has been extraordinary and while I know the true reward comes from the feedback from the players your efforts and professionalism are certainly more than deserving of the honor! 

I personally want to thank you for your commitment and support to PA D14.  Your involvement and support has been instrumental in the strength and quality of umpiring within the District.

I’m sure I can speak for all in PA District 14 when I say CONGRATULATIONS and we are looking forward to following your exciting adventure on LL’s Largest World Stage!
