I hope you are excited and ready to get your seasons underway! I just wanted to address an issue we are aware of. During this COVID-19 crisis, several out of town teams have felt it to be their right to come and use Victorville fields for their illegal tournaments. I want to assure you, that these groups do not hold permits from the City. I have always tried to be transparent with each group and I want you to know that we are trying to do everything we can to communicate with these groups and get them to stop utilizing fields.

With that said, if you get to your field and there is another group there, please ensure that you have the following:

• A copy of your permit. Also, ensure that your coaches also have copies of the City approved permits.
• Ensure you are arriving to your field on time or early, especially on weekends. My staff and I will be going to post weekly calendars at each location so people can see when the field is rented.
• If someone won’t move from your field, please do not bring on any confrontation, you can call the following numbers and explain your situation:
  • Victorville Code Enforcement- 760-955-5104
  • San Bernardino Non-Emergency Police Dispatch- 760-956-5001
• Victorville Code Enforcement should be your first call.  They are given the field calendar weekly and can dispatch out one of their officers to come check permits. Ensure you tell them what league you are with. They have copies of field schedules, but the schedules say League name not team name. For example, if you need to call, tell the officer you are from Victorville Ribbons and not the Dodger team.

We know that the last year has been hard, and not being able to have your regular seasons added to that. It is our hope that with our permitted leagues reclaiming the fields it will cut down or stop the illegal use.
