DCSC Pathfinders’ Goalie Joshua Baker commits to Richmond International Academic & Soccer Academy

Apple Valley, CA – DCSC Pathfinders’ Joshua Baker has committed to Richmond International Academic & Soccer Academy (RIASA) in Leeds, England. (READ OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE)

Joshua Baker has been offered several scholarship opportunities post high-school in the United States, but he and his family believe that RIASA will provide the greatest growth and exposure for Josh to continue to develop his professional soccer career.

“It’s exciting and nerve racking all at the same time,” states Joshua’s dad Brian Baker. “It’s hard enough sending a child off to college, let alone to another country. We knew when he was about 15 that this is what he is going to be doing as a career. Now that this role in England has present itself, it seems fitting. We are all excited to watch the door close on his youth career, and watch it open again for his Professional career. This move just seems fitting given his own dedication to shot-blocking, fitness, and academics. All keepers go through tough times, but staying engaged and committing to the net has its rewards, this is Josh’s.”

Richmond International Academic & Soccer Academy (RIASA) offers internationally accredited undergraduate and post-graduate programs in International Sports Management while providing an opportunity for students to play for professional academies.

Desert Communities Soccer Club (DCSC) is a non-profit youth soccer organization established in 1978 in Barstow, CA, serving the High Desert. It’s purpose is to revolutionize grassroots competitive soccer by providing an affordable and accessible soccer experience for all players. DCSC Pathfinders is it’s adult affiliate playing in the UPSL, a 4th Division League of the US Soccer Federation.
