The Board of Directors of Hockessin Soccer Club has voted to end its affiliation with Rush Soccer and to join with Kirkwood Soccer Club and Delaware Union as affiliate clubs of Delaware Football Club. This change will become effective with the start of the 2019-2020 season this fall.

 

Your Board of Directors decided to take back control of the things that are most important for our club – our local roots, how we run our business and the cost of soccer. It was decided that the benefits that Rush offered were no longer useful for our club, and the cost of being a Rush affiliate was increasing annually. One example of this was last year’s uniform kit, which included a premium jersey with a premium price.

 

 

Bottom line – there will be no impact to how and where our children play soccer!

 

What it means is that we will be part of a unique soccer environment in our state, with all the affiliate clubs working together in support of advancing soccer in Delaware. We can join together for purchasing and operational synergies to lower the cost of soccer to our members across all programs. One immediate example of this will be our intention to lower the cost of our travel and instructional uniform kits next year (as a reminder, under Rush there would be a new uniform kit this fall).
