First, I want to thank our former president Pat Taylor for everything he did for this program! The program wouldn't be where it is today without you Pat!! I’m so happy Pat is staying on our board to help us continue to make this program great!!
I wanted to introduce myself, my name is John Martin, and I am the new Little League President. A little background, I grew up in Wanaque/Haskell I played in the program, I coached my little brother in this program when I was in my 20's. Now I'm coaching my boys in the same program. Wow I'm getting old!! Nah as I always say 26 for life!! You're only as old as you want to be! Ha-ha. I guess you can say I'm a lifer! I will now have three boys in the program this year, one entering senior baseball level this season and two just getting started in T-ball this upcoming season. I have been coaching in the program for the past 6 years and I have been lucky enough to be part of a great little league board with some fantastic people! I have one mind set, let's continue to make this program the best it can be!
I wanted to provide you some updates for the upcoming season;
- Little League registration will be open for ages 4-16 on January 16th.
- Opening day is scheduled for April 15th this year.
Opening day is such a great day for everyone. It can't come quick enough! We have a fun day planned with lots of Baseball! We will continue to play against Ringwood/Pompton Lakes in our minor and major division. I look forward to working with you and your children to give them the best experience possible, make great memories, learn the game of baseball and have lots of fun!
