2022 Welcome Letter

 Welcome to the 2022 Valley Little League Season

A safe place to learn and play the game of baseball

 

 

 

 

Majors (ages 10 – 12)

  • All players ages 10 – 12, who are not already assigned to a Majors team, must attend one tryout. See below for dates and timesPlayers drafted by a Majors team will be notified as soon as possible after the draft on the evening of March 20th
  • If not drafted, players will be notified of their placement after the minors draft.

 

Minors (ages 8 – 11)

  • All 8 year olds will attend a skills assessment, dates and time below, to determine if they will be selected to move up to minors.  The majority of 8 year olds will remain in Coach Pitch.
  • All players ages 8-9, who are not already assigned to a minors league team, must attend one tryout. See below for dates and times. 
  • Teams will be formed through a draft aimed to balance skills and abilities throughout the division on the evening of March 20th.

 

Coach Pitch and T-ball 

  • No tryouts or skills assessment required. Parents will be notified after the teams are formed, approximately the 3rd week of March.

 

Tryouts and Skills Assessment Dates:    March 12, 13 and 19

 

10:00am – 8-9  year olds    11:30am- 10 year olds      12:30- 11-12 year olds

 

Other dates to remember:

 

March 26 Field Work Day 9:00am to 1:00pm All coaches, parents, and players are strongly encouraged to help. There is always plenty to do so we can be ready for Opening Day!


April 11 Opening Day. Not all teams will play this first day, but all will have their first game some day in that week!

 

Parents: 

The League will provide your player with a shirt and hat. You will be responsible for purchasing a belt, glove, pants, socks, and depending on division, cleats. 


We are dedicated to providing a safe environment for learning and playing the game of baseball.  Our goal is to positively influence the youth of Walla Walla by teaching teamwork and good sportsmanship, through the game of baseball. Parents are strongly encouraged to join and support in this effort. Please contact your team’s manager or league official to find out how you can help make Valley Little League successful .
