About Mike: Coach Saunders joined the BSC after a distinguished career in the beautiful game. After playing collegiately at the University of Connecticut he would go on to have an extensive playing career professionally. In addition to his experience with the Connecticut Wolves, the New York Fever, the Carolina Dynamo, and the Wichita Wings. Saunders also went on to play for various clubs in England and Germany. In 1999, he capped his professional career by helping the Minnesota Thunder capture the 1999 USL A-League Championship.In addition his experience on the pitch Saunders has spent the past eight seasons as the Assistant Coach at the University of the District of Columbia. He currently holds a USSF National 'D' Coaches License.
