Dear Members,
We hope you are enjoying the spring and observing your child developing on the soccer field. As the season nears its end, we realize there will be inevitable conversations and questions concerning the Carolina Rapids Team Selection Process (Tryouts). We cannot eliminate the conversations but we would like to keep our coaching staff, parents and most importantly our players focused on this season rather than the team selection process which will be held at the end of the spring season.
We feel strongly that communication is vital to the transparency of our club and certain information is needed at this time of the year to help our members plan their family time away from the soccer fields. Beginning with this letter we will periodically provide information throughout April and May that will provide the answers our members seek in relation to this process. Again, all we ask is that - for now - the focus continues to be on the development of our players in the current season without the distraction of looking too far ahead to next year.
For now, please note the following for all locations.
- Tryouts for our older girls U16-U18 are complete, there may be some roster spots open, please contact [email protected] if interested.
- U9 and U10 Youth Academy assessments for Carolina Rapids Recreational and returning YA players will be held on May 7th, 2018 (Boys) and May 8th, 2018 (Girls)
- U9 and U10 Youth Academy tryouts for players outside the club will be the week of May 14th, 2018
- U11 Girls and Boys, U12 Girls and Boys will be the week of May 14th, 2018.
- All other age groups will participate in the team selection process during the week of May 21st, 2018. Specific dates and times will be announced shortly and registration will be available on the website.

The Team Selection Process is always one of the busiest times of the year for the club and there is much planning involved both administratively and on the field. In an effort to be more efficient we ask you use our webpage as the primary source for information you need about the process and then follow up with emails or phone calls if necessary. We ask for your patience as information relevant to the selection process will become available via our web page at the appropriate time. Thank you for your support as we finish this season strong and cheer on our teams competing in State Cups over the next month.
