The Group will be split into small groups. The sessions will be designed to improve first-touch to set up a shot, pass or dribble. There will be a lot of one player/one ball and small group activities. The Players will be challenged to execute proper technique and body position after performing multidirectional patterns, agility drills, balance and coordination exercises.

WINTER 1 SPEED AND AGILITY

What are the most important skills to learn for any sport?

Speed and agility, of course!

For every sport from baseball/sofball to soccer, football, lacrosse to  to rugby and everything in between, movement and speed drills are endlessly important to be able to enhance your performance.

Diesel Sports Complex’s Speed and Multi-Directional Movement Program allows young athletes to improve their agility, speed, quickness, and overall movement skills; something that can be translated across multiple different sports.

Speed, agility, and quickness are some of the most significant, and visible, components of athletic success. An improvement in the ability to react quickly, apply significant force rapidly in the appropriate direction, and redirect that force if needed is the ultimate goal of a program to improve speed, agility, and quickness.

A carefully designed program that addresses these factors of athleticism significantly improves overall performance and reduces the risk of injury. Speed, agility, and quickness all involve learned motor skills. Although the magnitude of proficiency will vary with each individual, learning the efficient and effective execution of these skills can improve overall athletic ability.

Each session will include proper warm-up, speed, and agility drills, footwork, biomechanics, technique, and cool down.  Each session is designed by a nationally certified Speed, Agility, and Quickness instructor.

The program will give your young athlete (ages 8-14) many sport-specific drills to allow them to grow in their respective sports and give them a competitive advantage.
