Coed Recreational Baseball

Every Fall & Spring, TPSS Coed Baseball provides an opportunity for children ages 5 -14 to play baseball in a positive, fair, instructional and safety-oriented environment with emphasis on the development of qualities such as leadership, teamwork, sportsmanship, and friendship.   We welcome all families, however they may be formed, celebrate diversity and inclusion.  TPSS is a safe space and is an inclusive environment for families of all genders, orientations, and expressions.

Spring Coed Baseball Now!

League Information:
- TPSS has provided quality recreational baseball and softball opportunities to our community for over 29 years.
- TPSS Baseball is an all-volunteer league.  We are always looking for parent coaches whether head or assistant coach.
- Players play in appropriate age divisions: Rookies, Minors A, Minors AA & Majors.  We combine divisions for Registration. Details below.
- Games are played on Sundays at local Silver Spring/Takoma ball fields.
- Games are about applying learned skills in real time during an actual game.  We learn by doing.
- Game times usually after noon. Coaches may vary after consulting with parents. 
- Each team practices one day during the week. Coaches consider preferences, field availability and schedules. Practices focus on skills building, repetition and scrimmaging against teammates.

Season Information:
Our older divisions begin play in early to mid April and younger divisions starting later April. 

Age Requirements:
As young as age 5 with prior T-ball experience. Upper divisions no high school age players.

Divisions:
Divisions are typically composed of youths with a similar set of skills, abilities and ages.  Safety is an over riding objective and we are flexible with levels of play. We value parents comments and feedback. 

Ages may overlap in Divisions. Generally Rookies 5-7/Minors A 7-8; Minors AA/Majors 9-!4. (Players are evaluated and rostered on teams by age and skills.

Scholarship Program

TPSS Softball and Baseball Scholarship Program

TPSS Softball and Baseball are committed to providing quality youth sports programming to a diverse pool of young athletes.  We aim to have all of our programs reflect the rich diversity that exists in the Takoma Park Silver Spring area.  

To aid parents who may need assistance with registration fees, TPSS Softball and Baseball has full and partial scholarships available.  

Those in need of this type of assistance, we ask that you pay the amount you can afford (a minimum of $15.00 if possible.)

To apply simply send a note to Philip Olivetti at Scholarships and then when registering online at checkout, pay the "minimum amount" with check or credit card."

All requests are kept confidential.

2024 Spring Coed Baseball

2024TPSS Coed Baseball

The goal of TPSS Baseball is to provide an opportunity for boys and girls ages 5-14* to play recreational baseball in a positive, fair, instructional and safety-oriented environment. 

Objectives of TPSS include: teaching fundamentals of the game, helping improve skills, and instilling the values of sportsmanship, teamwork, and love of the game.  Prior baseball experience is not necessary.

*No high school age players. 5 year olds with T-ball experience and direct parental supervision may play.
