PRE-ACADEMY PROGRAM

New Pre-Academy Program beginning in October

Concept

Pre-Academy is a new program aimed at current U7 & U8 players who could step up to Academy in the Fall season 2018. This is effectively a feeder program to Academy.

How will the program work?

Players will be invited to join the group and will work once per week with a professional club trainer at Viera 5:45-7:00pm on Mondays starting Oct 9. A trainer will be assigned to the boys and girls. Players will attend one or both of their regular YDP practice on the other nights of the week and will play their regular YDP games.

Coaching Methodology

The trainers will be delivering a higher level Academy Curriculum. The goal is to better prepare players for the step up at U9 Academy when players will be competing against other Clubs. It will be individual skills driven, targeting players that have an interest in Competitive Soccer. We are looking at players who can compete physically, technically, tactically and psychologically.

Games

A Jamboree (friendly round robin low cost tournament) may be played against other like minded clubs over one day.

Homework

This will largely be a homework based program whereby the trainer will set weekly tasks to complete with video being used. The expectation will be that each player who attends the practices completes the weekly homework tasks. If we feel that players do not meet our criteria and keep up with their homework tasks they asked to leave the program.

Cost

The cost will be $175 for 25 practices over Fall, Winter and Spring Season.

The Pre-Academy offers absolute no guarantee that a player will automatically be invited into the Academy Program.
