| As many of you have heard by now, AFU has lost a wonderful young man on Saturday, July 29, 2017, during soccer practice.
Michael Jones, 16, was an aspiring junior of Parkview High School who loved soccer and had been a dedicated player since age six.
Michael was a wonderful and loving son of Mary Jones and Prescott Jones, sister Keisha. He was truly a joy with an infectious smile.
He was in the US Olympic Development program. He was a member of National League, GSA 00 Premier team. He had plans to study engineering and robotics at Clemson University. Currently, Michael was a team member of AFU with high hopes of an exceptional season.
Updated information as of August 2, 2017:
The medical examiner determined that the cause of death was due to the fact that Michael’s heart had an abnormal artery.
Michael will be missed dearly by his AFU family, by coach Justin Matthews, and by his 2000 Elite Black teammates. The family welcomes those who would like to attend the funeral. Please see the following information: Michael Jones Wake
