    9U-12U Academy & 13U-19U Select

    ACADEMY (9U-12U)
    Summer Assessments/Tryouts:

The governing body for soccer in GA mandates the dates of open summer assessments for all clubs (though additional assessments opportunities are available - see below). Players from any club in any state are free to attend these assessments as per state rules.

Tryouts for the 9U-12U Academy program take place the Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday following Memorial Day.

9U - 12U Academy coaches typically use the three evenings of assessments to evaluate players for acceptance into a 'pool' for training and playing purposes

    Additional Assessments/Tryouts:

    1. Individual Try-Outs

Individual try-outs are available throughout the year for players not registered at any other club in GA, or during the winter break for players who participated in Recreational program soccer during the fall season and are either resigning to SSA for the spring or have not yet registered at any other soccer club. Please note that unlike Academy program try-outs, where players are accepted into a general pool, Select program try-outs are subject to space being available on a team. To schedule an individual try-out, please contact the program director (listed under 'Contacts' on the menu bar).

The Southeastern Clubs Champions League has been formed in response to an overwhelming need for a more manageable environment than is presently available in the gap between localized grassroots soccer and national level play. The SCCL will strive to provide a solution to this need in an affordable, family-friendly way.

The following 8 clubs from throughout the Southeast will be participating in the inaugural season of the Champions League: Birmingham United SA (Alabama), Carolina Elite Soccer Academy (SC), Concorde Fire (GA), Gwinnett Soccer Academy (GA), NASA TopHat (GA), Southern Soccer Academy (GA), United Futbol Academy (GA), and Vestavia Hills SC (Alabama). The new club-centric league will initially be comprised of one team per gender per age group from 12U19U in the 2018-19 year. Following a home and away round-robin season format, teams will compete for the opportunity to advance to the U.S. Club Soccer National Cup which includes a Regional event followed by National Finals.

    U6 - U8 PDP Program

    Player Development Program (PDA)

SSA's U6 and U8 Player Development Academy is a soccer development program which aims to accelerate the technical and tactical development of players looking to eventually participate in the U9-U12 Academy and U13+ Select programs. It is a seasonal academy-style program designed for the passionate, motivated, and advanced player who fosters the desire to be challenged in every aspect of his/her game. This program gives these players the opportunity to train in a professional environment with professional staff coaches and alongside like-minded players. In an effort to maximize player development, players are maintained in training groups and play non-results-oriented games. Players may also have the chance to represent their club when playing neighboring clubs.

SSA PDA allows players to participate on a season-to-season basis, permitting players to register for one season without committing to a full year. This provides a chance for those players who turn 8 a chance to move up and join the Academy program should this be in the best interests of the player.
