CHELSEA FOUNDATION MAKE 'FANTASTIC' IMPACT IN CONNECTICUT, USA

The Chelsea Foundation strive to make an impact around the world and this was highlighted recently when staff from our international department (which included SSA Dekalb Director Tony Anglin) engaged with more than 100 players during a two-week camp in Connecticut, USA.

In association with New York Connecticut Football Partnership, Foundation staff managed and supported the delivery of the camp in New Canaan to players who were invited from clubs around Connecticut and New York.

With the aim to aid the development of the players, our international staff delivered player workshops based on nutrition, injury prevention, player qualities and values, player positions and their roles and responsibilities.

Foundation senior international development officer Chris Woodward said: 'It was great to engage with players from across Connecticut over the two weeks.

'We wanted to deliver something different and really support the player's development by giving them information not only to become better footballers which can be taken back to their clubs, but all to better themselves as young people.'

He added: 'It was a really intense two weeks and I feel the players managed to take information away from the camps.

'We look forward to engaging and delivering further programmes with NYCT Football Partnerships in the near future.'

Bradley Meyer, chief executive at NYCT Football Partnership, said: 'Chelsea Foundation was a fantastic partner to bring elite player development to New England.

'Their commitment to community outreach ensured that the best players across diverse backgrounds were given this unique opportunity.

'I would like to thank Chris Woodward and his team of coaches in providing experience to the participants across the two weeks.'
