SSA Kings Internship Opportunities

Southern Soccer AcademyKings are excited to announce some fantastic internship opportunities as the club looks to enter its first season in the USL2 and WPSL leagues respectively. These internship opportunities will provide valuable first hand experience in the sports industry and interns will become a vital part of the SSA Kings team. The internships are open to college students only who are seeking a position for class credits as these internships are unpaid.

Applicants must be available during the Summer months (May - July) including nights and weekends to coincide with the season. Applicants should possess a high level of professionalism and be able to work both alone and as part of a team and must have a desire to learn.

SSA Kings Internship Application

Sports Photography Internship -

The purpose of our ‘Sports Photography Internship’ is to allow students the opportunity to gain first hand experience in producing quality sports photography content. The Sports Photography Interns will work alongside each other to generate photo content from SSA Kings’ practice days, match days, social events and interviews. These interns will work closely with SSA Kings’ General Manager, and collaboratively with the Sports Videography, Sports Journalism and Social Media Interns to produce meaningful content to be used across SSA Kings’ social media platforms and website; to engage with the current SSA membership and that assists in building the SSA Kings brand. Sports Photography Interns should expect to engage with the club throughout the summer months (May - July) per SSA Kings’ season schedule and should possess the ability to multitask and demonstrate leadership qualities and have a basic understanding of how to capture high quality images in a fast-paced environment.

Sports Videography Internship -

The purpose of the ‘Sports Videography Internship’ is to allow students the opportunity to gain first hand experience in capturing and producing high-quality sports videography content. The Sports Videography Intern will be responsible for recording, producing and editing creative content to be used across SSA Kings’ various social media channels to help grow the overall reach and effectiveness of the clubs marketing campaigns. The videography intern will work closely with SSA Kings’ General Manager as well as collaboratively with the Sports Photography, Sports Journalism and Social Media Interns and will be responsible for helping SSA Kings engage with the current SSA membership through the building of the SSA Kings brand. Sports Videography Interns should expect to engage with the club throughout the summer months (May - July) per SSA Kings’ season schedule and should possess the ability to multitask and demonstrate leadership qualities. Interns will be required to set-up and maintain the necessary equipment to be used for the recording of high-quality video content at practice days, match days, social events and interviews. Interns should also possess fantastic organization skills and be able to not only work alone but excel as part of a team.

Social Media Internship -

The purpose of the ‘Social Media Internship’ is to allow students the opportunity to gain first hand experience in various aspects of social media including but not restricted to content production, social media management, and sports marketing. These interns will work collaboratively with SSA Kings’ General Manager, Sports Photography, Sports Journalism and Sports Videography Interns, to create quality content for and effectively operate all SSA Kings social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Interns will be required to have a basic understanding of these major social media platforms. Social Media Interns should expect to engage with the club throughout the summer months (May - July) per SSA Kings’ season schedule and should possess the ability to multitask and demonstrate leadership qualities.

Sports Journalism Internship -

The purpose of the ‘Sports Journalism Internship’ is to allow students the opportunity to gain first hand experience in the production of written media content. These interns will work closely with SSA’s General Manager and Social Media, Sports Photography and Sports Videography Interns, to create high-quality match writeups, player/fan profiles, and much more. Sports Journalism Interns should expect to engage with the club throughout the summer months (May - July) per SSA Kings’ season schedule and should possess the ability to multitask and demonstrate leadership qualities. They should also have a basic understanding of professional interviewing and writing skills.

Gameday Operations Team Internship -

The purpose of the ‘Gameday Operations Team Internship’ is to allow students the opportunity to gain first hand experience in the development and delivering of all gameday operations and club events. These interns will work closely with each other under SSA King’s General Manager and will manage all aspects of gameday operations with each intern taking the lead in the respective elements of providing a safe and enjoyable fan experience. Gameday Operations Interns should expect to engage with the club throughout the summer months (May - July) per SSA Kings’ season schedule and should possess the ability to multitask and demonstrate leadership qualities.
