USL HEAD COACH RELEASE
MARIETTA, GA – SOUTHERN SOCCER ACADEMY KINGS have announced on Wednesday that the club have appointed Kelham O’Hanlon as the first Head Coach in the club’s USL 2 history. O'Hanlon will be moving into the role alongside his current position as NPL Director for the Southern Soccer Academy Youth Program.
King’s General Manager, Simon Davey said, “Having worked at Both Barnsley FC and Preston North End FC with Kelham and now at Southern Soccer Academy, he was the ideal choice. Kelham has coached and played at the highest level and has worked with world renowned coaches; bringing a wealth of experience to the role. Kelham has been a Director at SSA for 6 years and has coached over 1000 professional games in The English Football league. We look forward to seeing Kelham pass on this knowledge and experience to our pre-professional USL league 2 roster.
O’Hanlon has been apart of the SSA coaching staff since 2013. The Middlesbrough native brings great experience to USL with O’Hanlon’s professional playing experience including more than 600 Senior 1st team appearances in the EFL and SPL, as well as appearances with the U-21 and Senior Republic of Ireland National teams. O’Hanlon’s managerial experience includes stints working with Craig Brown and David Moyes and 12 years of managerial experience in the EFL & SPL. O’Hanlon currently holds a UEFA A License and LMA Diploma in Management-Warwick University.
