 Graduating Girls - U19 Elite

Grace Griffith started playing with AYSA/IAFC in 2003. Although she left for several years to play elsewhere, she returned home to play with her friends at Inter/AYSA in 2014. Gracie has enjoyed playing every position during her soccer career at Inter/AYSA and is currently the co-captain. She plays for her high school team, Grady, along with many of her current club teammates. She also played on the State ODP team.

Gracie plays 2 other varsity sports (cross country and basketball), and recently won 3d place in the state cross country meet. She is applying to the honors programs at UGA, Clemson, and several northeastern schools. She plans to continue her sports enthusiasm in college at some level, although what sport remains up in the air.

Gracie is an AP Scholar with Distinction, a section co-editor of her school newspaper, a 2-year fashion designer for her school’s fashion program, and a National Honor Society member.

Grace Dusenbury first played at AYSA/IAFC in 2003.  She joined the Inter Atlanta Select team in 2010 when it was an Athena D level team.  In addition to playing for Inter, Grace is a four year letterman and starter for the Grady High School Team.  This year will be her second year as co-captain of the team.  Grace will hopefully graduate from Grady High School thiis spring and is considering UNC, UVA, UGA, South Carolina, Duke, Wake Forest, and Tulane for college.  She plans on playing club soccer in college.

In addition to soccer, Grace is a member of the National Honor Society, an AP Scholar with Distinction, co-sports editor of the Grady newspaper, and a three year letterman on the Grady volleyball team.  She should be a four letterman but she was kicked off the team her sophomore year for playing an inter-Atlanta game instead of attending a volleyball tournament.

Grace has really enjoyed the entire soccer experience, especially all the friends she has made along the way.

Talley Mills started playing with IAFC in the fall of 2014. She attends Dunwoody High School and hopes to attend the University of Georgia next year. She will play intramural sports. She has played varsity soccer since her freshman year at Dunwoody and was named Outstanding Defender in 9th and 10th grades and Best Overall Player her junior year. Talley has been team captain since her sophomore year.

Talley has played soccer since she was four years old and has played at various club before following Rob DiFiglio to IAFC. She has played multiple positions with goalie being her least favorite and attacking mid being her most favorite.

Her favorite soccer memory is winning the Region championship her junior year at Dunwoody.

Anslyn first played at IAFC in 2012 on the U14 team. She will graduate from Morgan County High School this May. She plans on majoring in Health & Wellness in College and has just recently signed to play at Piedmont College.  Anslyn has played Forward, Midfield, Defense, & even some Keeper throughout her years at INTER.

Aleea Bishop first played at IAFC in the U17 group in 2014. She will graduate from Alcovy High School and is has recently signed to play at Piedmont college Fall 2016.

Aleea has played at Athena levels A, B, C, and has played with the 1997 girls ODP team. She has also lettered all three years of varsity high school soccer and will soon letter a fourth. She has played every position throughout her soccer career and led her first recreational team at RYSA with the most goals of the season.

Her first game where she laid down on the field in the middle of the game because she was "tired". (age 7)

Mireya Artega started playing for IAFC in the u15 group in 2012. Mireya will graduate from Rockdale County High School, and am interested in University of North Ga, and Young Harris College the most. Unfortunately, Mireya tore her ACL at Disney last summer, which has somewhat intervened with the recruiting process with different schools, and she is undecided but will continuing playing, just not sure at what level yet. She will never forget my Inter Atlanta team and families, as they have given me some of her craziest, and memorable memories yet.

Some of Mireya’s accomplishment are: top 10 in class, Varsity for four years, high school captain, several leadership positions, MVP player …

Kaityln LeFevre first started playing with Inter/AYSA. Kaitlyn started playing soccer when she was 4 years old. She began playing with Inter in U-16.  High School Attending/Graduating Kaitlyn attends and will be graduating from Union Grove High School.  Kaitlyn will be attending Middle Georgia State University on a soccer scholarship this Fall 2016.

Kaitlyn has been a starting varsity player since she was a freshman. She has been awarded Offensive player of the year (2014), All County First Team (2014), All County Second Team (2015), All Region Team (2015) and Nominated Henry County Athlete of the year (2015). Kaitlyn has also been on honor roll and will be receiving the HOPE Scholarship.  I've enjoyed playing with the team over the past three years and enduring Rob's sass.  I wish everyone the best of luck on their journeys after high school. I will miss every one tremendously so we will have to stay in touch and still have team sleepovers! I couldn't ask for a better group of girls to call my team.

Faith Shelton started playing with Inter Atlanta in 2012 (U12) . I'm attending and graduating from Heritage High School in Conyers Ga
I plan on playing varsity college soccer. My years playing at Inter Atlanta have been the absolute best and I'm so happy I made the decision to come here when I did. My coaches were always patient and devoted and my team will always be my second family!

Sabrina Gaitan will graduate from Our Lady of Mercy Catholic High School and is looking at Vanderbilt, Duke, Northwestern, Georgia Tech, UGA and Marquette and plans to play intramural soccer.  Sabrina joined Inter Atlanta in 2015.  Her previous playing club experience includes Raleigh NC Premier Athena A 2012-2014 and AFC Lightning.  Sabrina has played Varsity Soccer 2012 to present and was the Defensive MVP in 2012.  She has played ODP and was the 2013 Mike Fitzpatrick Student Athlete of the Month.

Allie Suttles will graduate from Union Grove High School and started playing with Inter Atlanta in 2015.  She is looking forward to attending Georgia State, UGA, or Kennesaw. She isn't sure if she wants to continue to play in college.  Allie has been playing soccer since she was six years old playing defense for almost her entire playing career.  She plays high school varsity soccer and has played at the Athena A and B levels.

Sophie Durham will graduate from Grady High School and first started playing at Inter Atlanta in 2004 when she was six years old.  She is considering a variety of colleges.  Although she does not plan to play soccer in college, no doubt she will continue to play pick-up games, both at college and in her world travels.

Brett Pollock will graduate from Grady High School and has played her entire soccer career at Inter Atlanta starting in 2003.  Brett is interested in University of South Carolina, UGA, FSU and Auburn.  Although she will miss competitive soccer she has chosen to play club soccer in college. Brett plays centerback and has served as the team captain all but one season.  She has been a four year varsity player at Grady High School.

She is in the National Honor Society, a 2015 Columbia University Scholastic Gold Circle Award for Journalism winner and will graduate with honors.  Her fondest soccer memories are helping her father clean up and setup soccer fields, going undefeated in B, being promoted to Athena A, winning Disney at U15 and spending Memorial Day Weekends in Columbus, Georgia with her good friends.

Sydney Durham will graduate from Union Grove High School in McDonough GA.  She joined Inter Atlanta in 2013.   While being accepted to a number of schools, she has committed to play DII soccer at Shorter University and intends to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.  She has play four years of high school varsity, been on A Honor Roll all four years and has been a Governor’s Honors State nominee in Theater Sophomore and Junior year.  Her favorite soccer memory was of stopping three PKs in overtime in a high school game where the other coach insisted on ending a regular season with OT.  As a goalkeeper, she remembers playing one game as a field player because Inter Atlanta was down players when Coach Rob must have yelled her name fifty times.  Everything worked out; they won the game and she even got an assist as a field player.

Caroline Bailey will graduate from Decatur High school and first played with Inter Atlanta in 2008 playing at multiple levels.   She is applying to seven schools including Washington and Lee, UVA and UGA and will play college varsity soccer if accepted to Washington and Lee.  Between her club and school teams she has played forward and midfield positions. She has played high school varsity all four years and led her team to the state semi-finals last year.  She is also a member of NHS and an IB Diploma Candidate.  She will always remember the Decatur/Grady. At Inter she will remember her team dominating a game in pouring rain and mud at last year’s Adidas Tournament.

Carson Fleming first played at inter Atlanta FC in 2008, she had applied to UGA, South Carolina, Alabama, and Georgia college but has just recently signed to play at Emory Oxford. She is going to miss playing with her fello muppets (as Rob would say!).

IAFC Seniors

The IAFC Staff and Board of Directors would like to recognize our 2017 Senior Class. Great Job and best of luck to each of you.

CLASS OF 2015

Inter Atlanta FC is proud to highlight all of our graduating senior boys and girls!  We appreciate all the hard work, time, energy spent playing at Inter, and wish you all the best of luck next year.  Please see below for team recaps and further for each graduating senior.

Inter Atlanta Elite U19 - Girls

Inter Atlanta Elite started their journey in the Athena league at the D/E level as U13 players. By the time they reached U15, they were undefeated in Athena B and then promoted to Athena A.  They have won many tournaments, with the most notable including The Norcross Nike Cup, Disney Memorial Day Shootout, The Atlanta Cup.  In addition, the team has represented IAFC honorably at all 3 Georgia State Cup appearances.

Several players have chosen to play in college and many others are considering offers.  Previous and current coaches include: Lindsay Hawkins (U13), Mandy Schneider Bennett (U14 – U15) and Rob Di Figlio (U16 -  U19).  Each coach’s thumbprint is on the team composition, but it’s the players’ team spirit and ability to integrate new players that carries them through successive winning seasons.

The IAFC U19 Girls Elite Players and Parents truly represent what competitive youth soccer should be; a common goal, hard work and preparation, playing your hearts out, good sportsmanship and enjoying the company of good friends.

Inter Atlanta Elite U19 - Boys

Inter Atlanta Elite has won the D2 State Championship twice representing Georgia at Regionals and competed in Classic 1 in 2012 and 2015.  Several players are considering offers to play in college.  Coaches include: Brian Stoddart (06-07), Serkan Orsan (08-11), Zach Waldorff (11-13), Sean Howe (13-15) and Josh DiGiovanni (15).  This team was the first Inter Atlanta Boys Team to promote from Classic 4 to Classic 1 and is now the leading edge of teams regularly competing in the upper divisions of Georgia Soccer.  Many on the team will remember the Louisiana regionals in summer 2015 where we played on swamp-like fields in incessant rain and results were eventually decided on coin tosses.
