WHAT:  
The Colorado Flag Football Championships

WHEN:  Saturday & Sunday November 12th & 13th, 2016

WHERE:  University of Colorado-Boulder
-- Saturday's games will be played at Kittridge Fields & Business Park
-- Sunday's games will be played at the Indoor Practice Facility


TOURNAMENT FORMAT:  The tournament will feature a 3 game guarantee.  Teams will play in a three game pool play format.  Following the pool play, depending on record  teams may advance to an elimination round.  Semi Finals and Finals will be played on Sunday at either the Indoor Practice Facility.  

STYLE:  5 vs. 5 NFL FLAG (with slightly modified rules for tournament play)

DIVISIONS:  There will be 6 main divisions with two - three subdivisions in each.  All divisions are based off of students' grade from the 2016-2017 school year.

--PK/K Division
--K/1st grade Division (only for those teams that are PK/K/1)
--2nd/3rd grade Division
--4th/5th grade Division
--4th/5th/6th grade Division (only for those teams that are 4/5/6)
--6th/7th/8th grade Division

Subdivisions will be Gold, Silver, and Bronze and will be determined based on the teams regular season record.  Regardless of your teams skill level you can come to the tournament and compete against other similar level teams!

GOLD DIVISIONS: * NOTE: This is now an open tournament. All National Flag Football undefeated teams,  teams with modified or combined rosters, teams from outside of our league (despite their record), travel or competitive teams will all be placed into our GOLD DIVISION. 

SILVER AND BRONZE DIVISIONS: These divisions are reserved only for National Flag Football teams that keep the same FALL roster that was given to them.  The Silver and Bronze divisions may be combined if there is not enough participation in each.

Proof of grade is required to participate in this event

ENTRY FEE:  The entry fee to participate is $350 per team.  Teams that come in with their regular season roster will be placed in the subdivisions based on the regular season record.  Teams that add players that were not on their regular season roster will automatically be placed in the Gold subdivision.  Teams must consist of 7-10 players.

CHAMPIONS:  
Division champions and runner ups will receive individual trophies.

DEADLINE:  The deadline for this event is October 28th, 2016 or when a division fills up.

TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE:  The tournament schedule will be released on Monday November 7th, 2016.

TOURNAMENT CHECK IN: 
You will be emailed with directions on check in details.  Coaches are required to check in with their full team on Saturday, November  12th at your assigned check in time.  Please do not approach the registration tables unless ALL players are present.  Teams will receive their wristbands at this time.  All players and coaches will receive these wrist bands which they will be required to wear throughout the tournament and will allow them to access the field.  Any player not wearing a wrist band will be ineligible to participate.

CONCESSIONS:  
Concessions will be on site throughout the day.

ROSTERS AND WAIVERS:
  Final team rosters, waivers, and proof of grade are due by Monday November 7th, 2016.

THIS IS A PROOF OF GRADE TOURNAMENT: This means that it is the team's responsibility to prove every and all players on their team are participating in the appropriate division if called out by an opposing team. You should make sure that your coaching staff as appropriate paperwork at the field for his or her entire team. During the registration process the primary guardian of a participant MUST sign off on our electric waiver and upload their birth certificate. Your coach will email this link to you, once he registers the team. 

ACCEPTABLE FORMS OF IDENTIFICATION: We need a document that shows the following: 
1. Year or date issued 
2. Name of Participant 
3. Grade 
4. Photo of player 

Please keep in mind that you can provide a photo identification (photo must have player's name on it) AND a secondary document that has the players name, grade, and date or year issued.   Example:  - a school id card - yearbook pic with year - parent portal app with relevant player information.
 
 

DISPUTING AN IMPROPER AGE OR GRADE - VERY IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ: A team has the ability to dispute the age or grade of an opposing player (based on the division requirement rules) PRIOR to halftime (unless player did not play in the first half) one time during a tournament for a cost of $50 (to avoid frivolous protests).  If a dispute arises over a player participating in an improper division, the head coach must call a Dispute time out. The official is to get a site director. The team in question will have a 5 minute forfeit time to provide the necessary documentation of proof. If a team fails to provide proper division information for the player in question, the ENTIRE TEAM will be REMOVED from the tournament. NO REFUNDS will be provided. If the coach who called the challenge is proved wrong, they will forfeit their $50, both a timeout and 15 yard Unsportsmanlike Penalty will be accessed.
