About Shannon:
Shannon has an extensive amount of experience both as a coach and as a player in the game of soccer. She has served as the Girl's Director of Coaching at BSC since 2015. Prior to her tenure as the Girls DoC Shannon served as the head coach for the University of Maryland Women's Soccer team, the United States Women's U-19 National Team, and George Washington University. As a player, she was a two-time first team All American (1988 and 1989) and the recipient of numerous awards including the 1988 and 1989 Soccer America Player of the Year, 1989 ISAA Player of the Year and the 1989 Hermann Trophy. In 2000, she was named to the Soccer America College Team of the Century. Shannon earned fifty-one caps with the United States Women's National Team between 1987 and 1991 and was a member of the side that won the first-ever Women's World Cup. She currently possesses a USSF 'A' National Coaches License and her Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Relations from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. She is a member of the United States Soccer Hall of Fame and is a member of the Board of Directors at US Club Soccer.
