SAY Soccer is pleased to announce that its National Headquarters along with 37 SAY Soccer districts have each received a $1,000 Target Youth Soccer Grant.

Target’s initiative for this grant program is to help provide more children with the opportunity to play soccer. Along with donating toward field equipment, team equipment and professional development, this grant is also dedicated to funding low-income kids in playing the game.

SAY National received this grant to help fund its SAY Starters program, which provides playing and learning opportunities for players as early as three years old.

SAY Soccer and its area programs were assisted in applying for and receiving these grants by the nonprofit organization KIDS in the GAME, whose mission is to help kids thrive in life through positive sports experiences and increasing physical activity at schools. KIDS in the GAME worked with Target to help organizations like SAY Soccer get the most from this grant.

“SAY Soccer was a great partner in getting the word out and working with their affiliates to apply,” said Natalie Hummel, Founder and Executive Director of KIDS in the GAME.

“We are truly grateful that KIDS in the GAME and Target have made a substantial investment in youth soccer,” said Doug Wood, Executive Director of SAY Soccer.

Target started this youth soccer grant program two years ago and plans to continue this program for another two years. KIDS in the GAME partnered with Target for the first time last year and plans to continue this partnership for two more years.
