GotAED Donate Free Device to Middletown SAY

SAY Soccer is pleased to announce that its partner, Simon’s Heart, has donated a free automated external defibrillator (AED) device to Middletown SAY.

Simon’s Heart is a nonprofit organization that aims to spread awareness of the conditions and warning signs that may lead to cardiac arrest and death in student athletes. Simon’s Heart has donated the device through their crowdfunding platform GotAED, which provides a practical and affordable way to acquire an AED device.

"I am thrilled that Simon’s Heart is able to provide an AED device to Middletown SAY,” Co-Founder of Simon’s Heart Darren Sudman said. “When we created GotAED, I never imagined that it would reach my hometown youth soccer league! It is personally gratifying to return to Cincinnati to protect hearts and save lives.”

SAY Soccer is also encouraged by the improvements in safety and awareness that this donation will make, according to Executive Director Doug Wood.

“We are extremely excited about Middletown SAY receiving an AED device from GotAED,” Wood said. “A huge thank you to Simon’s Heart for allowing our SAY soccer communities the opportunity to provide a safer environment.”

As part of SAY’s partnership with Simon’s Heart, SAY Soccer members will be able to access educational information about sudden cardiac arrest and resources to get AED devices. If your team doesn't have an AED device, start a campaign today. Together we are protecting hearts and saving lives.
