Spring/Summer Competitive Program
Rebels offers competitive soccer opportunities for players ages 9-18. Competitive soccer is designed for those players who want to step up their game and test their skills by playing against higher competition. Rebels SC offers highly qualified trainers and coaches to its competitive teams and the opportunity to compete in both league and tournament play. U11-U18 girls and boys teams are selected through an annual tryout process. Professional training and instruction are provided to all our competitive teams.
For
Spring/Summer League for U9-U18 teams, regular season
games run from May through mid-July. For each team a total of
10-12 league games are scheduled 1-2 times per week on weeknights. Spring practice usually starts in mid/late April for these teams. Competitive teams also have the option to participate in numerous spring and summer tournaments - hosted locally, throughout the seven Minnesota county metro areas, and some may choose to travel out of state.
For age levels U9 - U10 there are two divisions per age group defined as either
"Maroon" (competitive) and "Gold" (skill building) levels. Teams may choose at which level they prefer to play. League play is against local teams. In the spring and summer, teams typically train 1-2 times per week with league games on weeknights and one or more local tournaments on weekends. Teams play 6v6 for two 25 minute halves.
For age levels U11 - U18 there are typically three divisions per age group called "Classic 1" (C1), "Classic 2" (C2), and "Classic 3" (C3). The levels progress from lower skill level C3 to higher skill level C1. Teams usually start at C3 and as they progress, they may work their way up to a C1 division.
C1 Teams usually practice three days per week, and may participate in a Regional or State level (State Cup) tournament at the end of the season. They may also participate in multiple local, in-state, or even out-of-state tournaments based on the level that they have achieved and as a decision made by the coach and the team members.
C2 Teams usually practice two times per week. They may participate in the State Cup at the end of the season. C2 teams usually participate in a couple of local tournaments during the year and may participate in an out-of-town tournament at the end of the year at the discretion of the coach and team members.
C3 Teams are usually those teams that have recently moved into the competitive program. They practice one to two times per week, and may participate in a couple of local tournaments.
Tryouts for Rebels Soccer Club are scheduled in July of every year to form competitive teams for the following Spring/Summer season; a roster must be submitted to MYSA by March 3rd, although teams may pick up additional players after that date.
U9/U10 player evaluations will be held if there are enough players at each group to form two or more teams - player evaluations will be held prior to team formation.
