Staff Member Background

Dwight Burgess

Director of Soccer Operations

Dwight has oversight responsibility for all HOSA programs relating to operations (including policies & procedures), sponsorships, outreach, facilities and player & staff development. Dwight has a leadership staff that is laser focused on delivering the best soccer experience to the children of Hilliard and surrounding communities by providing opportunities to play regardless of age, gender or skill level.

 
Dwight has an extensive soccer background. An accomplished player he participated in back-to-back OHSAA State Semi-Final games and went on to earn League, State, Region and National honors while splitting his collegiate playing career between DePauw University and the University of Dayton. Dwight was twice selected to attend developmental camps for the US National Team and served as Captain for Region teams in a pair of international Friendlies scoring twice. 

Along the touchline, Dwight spent a decade as an Ohio high school coach (including a State Championship with Centerville & a two year stint on the Hilliard Davidson boys' staff). Dwight served two year's as an Assistant Coach to  Technical Director Gary Avedikian with The Ohio State University men's program and eighteen seasons as the Head Coach for Capital University, transforming both the men's and women's teams into nationally competitive Division III soccer programs. During his tenure, Dwight led the soccer program to six conference championships and three NCAA tournament berths. Dwight was honored with Coach of the Year Awards on six different occasions. Dwight holds a Master's Degree from Ohio State and and has served in numerous director level and coaching positions within HFC, Crew Jrs. CUSA (Centerville United Soccer Association) and the Olympic Development Program. Dwight holds several national and international coaching licenses and worked as a clinician for MLS, US Soccer and the NSCAA. 
 
Dwight has been the TV/radio broadcast "Voice of the Crew" since Major League Soccer debuted in 1996 and is currently the Head Men's Soccer Coach for Wittenberg University.

  Bill has spent the majority of his life playing and coaching soccer throughout all ages and levels. Bill started playing competitive club soccer with United FC as well as playing in high school at Westland. Bill continued playing at the collegiate level for Columbus State before gaining professional experience as a coach. Bill spent many years coaching Stars FC, Hilliard FC (coach, academy director, and goalkeeper coach), Soccer Shots, and has been coaching Boys’ teams at Hilliard Bradley since 2011. Bill also spent time at Southwest Soccer Association fulfilling many roles including coach, director, and vice president. Bill started with the HFC program in 2012 and was named assistant technical director in May 2015. Bill has three children that are active in sports; two boys who both played soccer at Westland High School and a daughter that plays volleyball. Bill holds many licenses including US Youth Soccer F, E, and D licenses, NSCAA National Diploma, NSCAA National Goalkeeping Diploma, NSCAA Director of Coaching Diploma and USSF Grade 8 Referee license.

Kim is originally from western Pennsylvania and relocated to the Columbus area in 1991. Kim became involved with HOSA in 2005 when both of her sons started playing soccer in the HRSL program before both playing on HFC teams. During her sons’ time playing soccer Kim participated in many roles, some of which involved parent administrator, tryout volunteer, and member of the uniform committee. Her involvement as a volunteer led to her roles as HOSAs administrative assistant and now as HOSAs administrator. Professionally, she brings experience in customer service, bookkeeping, and office management in addition to experience as a business education teacher.
