For the summer of 2017, Ohio Galaxies FC will be offering a 4 week training and conditioning program for players in the u13 - u18 age groups in the fall of 2017.
U13 Age Group - Players born in 2005
U14 Age Group - Players born in 2004
U15 Age Group - Players born in 2003
U16 Age Group - Players born in 2002
U17 Age Group - Players born in 2001
U18 Age Group - Players born in 2000
U19 Age Group - Players born in 1999
The program is designed for players looking for an opportunity to participate in a weekly training environment over the month of June.
This program is specifically designed for players in an 11v11 playing model.
Training for u13-u18 players will focus on training methods that will enhance the technical and tactical skills in the full sided game.
The camp will focus on the following key elements of play:
Fitness
Technical work
Speed and Agility
1v1 - Attacking
1v1 - Defending
Finishing
Ball Striking
Small Sided Games
The 4 week program, coordinated by Ohio Galaxies FC staff, will offer 2 evening training sessions a week at the Ankeney Soccer Complex. Each training session will be 2 hours in duration and the training curriculum will include a fitness component. The weekly curriculum for the camp will include the following training topics:
Week 1 - Receiving and Passing
Week 2 - 1v1 Attacking and Defending, 1v1 Tournament
Week 3 - Ball Striking and Ball Heading
Week 4 - Playing with Pressure, 3v3 Tournament
Fitness Assessments conducted in Week 1 and Week 4 will include the following:
Beep Test
10 meter acceleration test
Illinois Agility Test
