U13 Tsunami-NJYS State Cup- Finalist
Saturday Oct. 25th, Marlboro, NJ---Four NJ Crush teams, U11 Fire, U12 Flames, the U13 Tsunami & U14 Storm played in the NJYS state cup semifinals.
U11 Fire vs NJ Rush Wildcats: Wildcats came out very quickly and were up 2-0 within the first 15 mins. Though the Fire had great chances to score, they could not capitalize on any opportunities. They put in a much stronger second half performance but unfortunately were hit on two more counter attacks which put the game out of reach.
The U12 Flames got off to a start similar to the Fire and found themselves 2-0 down very early on against a strong Rage Renegades team. The Flames managed to score quickly also giving them a lift but unfortunately continued to get outclassed in the first half leaving them 4-1 down at half time. The second half showed their belief in their ability and the game was end to end action. Though the Flames did not win, they fought hard and lost 5-3 in the end…An excellent display of true determination.
The U13 Tsunami had a great start to their weekend by beating TSF 2-1. They advanced to the finals on Sunday vs. NJ Wildcats. The Tsunami once again came to play and showed some great soccer under difficult conditions with a big wind throughout. Unfortunately the team lost 3-1. However, we could not be more proud of this group as they continue to grow and develop. Congrats to all of the players and to the coaches PJ Petrow and Hank Saxon on a great run in state cup.
The U14 Storm, also played NJ Rush Wildcats who came out very quickly at the start of the game controlling the play. Storm soon after dictated the game and moved the ball around. After having several opportunities but failing to convert, they found themselves on the opposite end conceding a couple of goals from their own errors. Storm continued to fight hard showing positive play to the end of the game but unfortunately were not able to overcome their deficit.
We are very proud of the clubs achievement having 3 semi finalist's and 1 finalist.
