AYSO U8-03 Team Fall 2017 Kick Off Email

Dear Parents of Team AYSO U8-03,

Wade and I are thrilled to coach your boys this fall with AYSO. We are looking forward to an excellent year. This email will be your guide to Team U8-03 Fall 07-Spring 08 (name to come).

Communication: AYSO has launched communications through the new AYSO site for Chicago: https://ayso.bluesombrero.com/Default.aspx?tabid=807938All communications in regards to team schedules, changes, RSVP, game cancellations will occur through this platform. Please check this site regularly for updates. You can communicate with the group via the discussion section of your AYSO account or privately by sending Wade or I an email, phone or text.

Roster: This can be accessed online in the portal by clicking on “roster”.
Uniforms: To be handed out at first practice. Players need to supply their own shinguards, ball and water for each practice and game.

Philosophy: At the U8 level, our goal is for our kids to get out there and get familiar with the sport, as well as enjoy themselves! We will look to ensure that players try each of the positions on the field and look to find their niche. We will work on ball control and passing, with an emphasis on team and skill development.

Game Schedule/RSVP: The team calendar for the fall season is up online! Our first game is Saturday, September 9th at 3pm on field 11 (Lakeshore and Wilson essentially). Games will run every Saturday at various times between 8am-3pm through October 21, 2017. Please ensure that you subscribe to the calendar or make note of the dates of the games. Please RSVP to each of the games ASAP via the site so that we have a pulse on our weekly numbers and can plan accordingly. The fields that we will be playing on are shown on the schedule and visible on a map here: https://ayso.bluesombrero.com/Default.aspx?tabid=865872. The website indicates the field location. Each game will be on field: C, D, 9, 10, 11, 12 or 13.

Snacks-Please also sign up for snacks one week that works for you by assigning this task to yourself for the week that works best for you. Let Wade or I know if you have any questions on this. The “Task Signup” view that is available through the calendar page of the account. This view shows remaining tasks that have not been claimed.

Goal Setup/Tear Down - We have the responsibility of goal tear down on Saturday, September 16. I have added assistance with goal duties to responsibility.

Cancellations-Wade and I will look to communicate through email and message board. Will be communicated as outlined in AYSO policy: https://ayso.bluesombrero.com/Default.aspx?tabid=865055

Practice Schedule/RSVP:The practice schedule is now up in our team account. This should download automatically with a subscription to the calendar. We are looking forward to our first practice, which will be on Friday, September 1 at 4:30pm at Chi Che Wang Park, 1719 W Wolfram St, Chicago, IL 60657. We will practice for an hour and hopefully come up with a team name. So get your boys thinking about that. We will practice every Friday from 4:30-5:30pm at Chi Che Wang. The only exception is that Wade and I are not available Friday, September 15th. We moved this practice to Wednesday, September 13th. Besides this practice, either one or both of us will be at all practices and games. We will call on the Team Parent or broader community as necessary. Do feel free to stay for practice and get involved as your schedule allows. We may have optional supplemental skill sessions a few times during the season and will add these dates to calendar.
