Referee General Information

Email is our primary method to communicate assignments and scheduled events. Please check your email on a regular basis.  Please have your availability in the Sunday before the next weekends games. Assignments will be sent the Monday before the weekend.

UPDATE PREFERENCES login to from column on left go to preferences, misc preferences, add information game conflicts, games per day, location, schedule and team...if none put none.

REFEREE AVAILABILITY submitted no later than every Sunday for the weekend 7 days out.  Update as necessary and email Matthew Pearce (email: [email protected]) of any changes.  See "Assignments & GoPay" page for further information.  If you do not put in availability by Sunday night you don't get games.

PAYMENTS:  Go out twice a month, around the 1st and the 16th of each month for games worked in the previous two weeks.  If you chose direct deposit, then you should see it credited to your account within two business days.  Otherwise, a check (less $3) will appear in your mailbox in 3-4 days.  See "Assignments & GoPay" page for further information.

ALL REFEREES Please complete the Seasonal Inputs to the Director and Assignor at the beginning of EACH season. Please keep the league updated with accurate contact information. You generally only need to submit a W9 once for the league.

UNIFORMS  Our local sponsors, T&G Allsports in Fayetteville, offer a 10% discount on uniform gear. They have shirts, shorts, socks, flags, whistles, cards etc. for you to buy separately. You will need to mention that you are with PTCYSA (i.e. Lazers) to receive the 10% discount.
New referees should first get the short-sleeved gold referee shirt.  Your next uniform shirt should be in this order: blue, green, red, black.
If you prefer to purchase your uniform online there are several web sites that sell soccer referee uniforms. One of these is
Wear only black clothing under the uniform jersey if it is exposed, i.e. a long-sleeved shirt for warmth underneath a short-sleeved jersey.
Shoes must be generally black.  Some white/gray is okay.  Do not wear shoes with the flashy colors, i.e. orange, yellow, pink, etc ...

SCHEDULE CHANGES or ISSUES  Contact Matthew Pearce (Assignor) for any schedule changes.  All members of the crew are to email Matthew of the changes after the game when back at home.  This is critically important as we approach the end of pay periods which end on the 15th and 30th/31st of each month.  We pay referees based on the schedule, so let us know of changes before we submit payments.
If you are scheduled as AR1 but filled in as CR, wouldn't you want to paid for the CR position?  Tell Matthew.
DO NOT manage your own replacement.  Call Matthew.

REFEREE LEAGUE STANDARDS All referees are expected to perform their duties to their best abilities and comply with the league standards.  Visiting teams have come to recognize the superior refereeing at the Peachtree City Athletic Complex  (PAC)   fields.  Let's work to maintain this image in all that we do.

POINTS OF EMPHASIS  Crews showing up to field on time in uniform, complying with league standards. CRs conducting a pregame brief and field/player inspection. ARs prioritizing the offside line over all other duties. ARs holding signals for a good 2 second count. ARs following the ball to the goal line.

REVIEW OF FLAG SIGNALS  These two links show the proper mechanics for AR and CR signals.  This is a good review and I encourage you to review these links.
