Academy Program

AFC Lightning Academy

 

  • AFC Lightning Academy is a developmental program for players that display passion, talent, and potential for improvement. 

  • The Academy program includes boys and girls age groups U-9 thru U-12, and emphasizes technical player development, team tactics in a competitive environment without the emphasis on winning.

  • The Academy program is affiliated with the AFC Lightning and GA Soccer.

  • Training is performed by National and State certified trainers under the direction of the AFC Lightning Griffin Club's Director of Coaching.

  • Academy teams play other academy-type teams from area clubs, scheduled in-house or by Georgia Soccer. 

  • Academy teams may also play in off-site tournaments to measure growth against teams from around the state and country.

  • Academy tryouts are held in May/ June every year, and requires a Full-year commitment.

  • Fees for the Select Program are determined by the GYSA Board, and are competitive with other area clubs.
