Soccer Gear List

Practice Gear: players must wear shin guards and long socks to practice, with soccer cleats or other athletic shoes. Cleats with a toe cleat (baseball cleats) cannot be worn to practice or for games. Players should wear comfortable shorts, weather-appropriate shirt and bring the correct size soccer ball. Long sleeves and layers are recommended at the beginning of the season!

Game Uniforms: All players will be issued a game jersey or t-shirt. Players are asked to wear black shorts and black socks for games.

Shin Guards: Per SAY Soccer rules, all players are required to wear size-appropriate shin guards long socks for all practices and games.

Cleats: cleats are recommended for all ages, but are not required. Soccer cleats must not have a toe-cleat, which are common to baseball cleats. Soccer cleats may be worn for baseball, but baseball cleats cannot be worn for soccer. Most players are able to find cleats during our annual Cleat Swap (details below).

Ball: Players should bring an appropriately sized ball to each practice. Coaches have access to extra balls for players who forget or don't have a ball.
