Congrats to Emma

Emma Murphy of Portland was accepted to the US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program Girls East Region Team.

The Portland Soccer Club wishes to congratulate Emma on this tremendous accomplishment! Emma has honed and demonstrated her skills as a defender, most recently for Portland’s U14 Boys Travel team the last two seasons. According to her coach, Emma is a hard worker and consistently “cool under pressure” at the fullback position.

She dedicates herself 100% during practices, games, and training events offered by the club. Emma has also demonstrated her leadership skills by proactively mentoring junior players.

Emma said her favorite player is Mia Hamm, and that being on the soccer field is her happy place - that it's her second home!
