Our Recreational Program currently consists of players from the age of 3 through the age of 18. Please take note that there is no skill level requirement at any age, I.E. we will have children of all levels participating on each team in our program. We have developed a system that provides both a fun and productive environment for players at all levels. Each team requires a volunteer parent coach, however we provide a professional trainer who works with each age group once a week.  Although our focus is predominantly on the enjoyment of playing the game, we would also like to utilize our time effectively with the children by teaching them as much as possible about the game and the skills needed to excel in the sport.

MINI LEAGUE PROGRAM
The Mini League is a FUN introductory program designed for boys and girls who are 3 years old by August 1, 2015. This is a success-based program designed to develop a player’s confidence and a life-long love of the game of soccer. The Mini League program is run as a parent/child clinic format.  We will have a Professional Trainer assisted by the parent/s of each player.  We will work on soccer skills each week through a variety of games and activities. There are no set teams.

The 6-week long season takes place on Friday evenings from 5:30 – 6:15 pm at the Polo Fields, Central Park, and  the South Forsyth Soccer Complex. The cost per season is $95 which includes a t-shirt and ball per seasonal year (both fall and spring seasons = one seasonal year).  I.E. - If you participated in the fall Mini League, you will not receive a new ball and t-shirt for the spring season.  Each player will receive a participation award at the end of each season.

U5 - U19 RECREATIONAL PROGRAM
Each U5 - U19 team requires a volunteer parent coach from each team, however we provide a professional trainer who works with each age group once a week.  Although our focus is predominantly on the enjoyment of playing the game, we would also like to utilize our time effectively with the children by teaching them as much as possible about the game and the skills needed to excel in the sport.  Practices are played during the week (please see practice schedule broken down by field below).  The season consists of at least eight games (played on weekends).  For registration fees per age group and season, please see our Rec General Info page. 

FAST TRACK TRAINING PROGRAM
For U7 & up UFA Recreational players who are interested in a more serious and intense training program. If interested, please contact Jeff Salas or your Age Group Coordinator.  A demanding training program, “Fast Track Training Program” will not only challenge its participants during sessions, but will also specifically require players to keep perfecting their skills through extra work at home. The focus will be on acquiring and mastering proper basic soccer skills, crucial for the Academy level. Fast Track Practices: In addition to the usual once or twice a week practice with their recreational team, a more intense training will be held once a week by an UFA staff trainer.

• 1 hour/week practice
• 8 week training program
• Fees are $80.00 for all 8 weeks ($10.00 per session)

An email will be sent out to our Rec membership detailing the program and schedule the week leading into the first regular season game.  Registration is done by replying to the aforementioned email.

 *This program is not a guarantee to move up to the Academy, but an opportunity to be exposed to a higher level of training.

FIELD LOCATIONS

• All practices will be held at Central Park, Polo Fields, and South Forsyth. Teams will have all of their practices at the park of their team’s practice park preference. The practice park assignment and team assignment is based on the practice park preference selected during your registration.
• All teams that practice at the Polo Fields in the age groups U5 through U12 will play their games at the Polo Field, Fowler Park or Central Park.
• All teams that practice at the South Forsyth Soccer Complex in the age groups U5 through U12 will play their games at the Polo Field or Fowler Park.
• All teams that practice at Central Park in the age groups U5 through U12 will play their games at Central Park, Polo Field, Fowler Park or Rock Creek Park.
• All teams in U14 or older will play home games at the South Forsyth Soccer Complex, Central Park, the Polo Fields or Fowler Park.

PRACTICE SCHEDULE BY FIELD
The first practice will serve as a team meeting for introduction purposes and will not include a session with the trainer.  After the first week, a trainer will be present for the first 30 min of one practice with each age group each week.  Teams that practice once will have the trainer present at each practice, and teams that practice twice will have the trainer present at one session each week.  The trainers will hold a group training session to introduce and reinforce a variety of skills throughout the season.  The practice schedule is as follows:

• Practices will be held at Central Park, the Polo Fields, and the South Forsyth Soccer Complex. There is a mandatory TURF SHOE POLICY for all practices. The turf shoes can be worn during games, however we recommend each player wear soccer cleats. 
• Due to field availability, if a practice is rained out during the week there will be no make up practice scheduled. The rainout line is 678-648-7033, ext 1. This will be updated by 3:30 PM on inclement weather days. Another option is to check the website at www.unitedfa.org and the Field Status will be listed on the right-hand side of the Home page.  Please click on "View All" under Field Status for more information.

VOLUNTEERS
Throughout the season parent volunteers will be in great demand. We will need coaches, assistant coaches, and team managers for each team. If you are interested in volunteering for any of these positions, please let us know by registering as a volunteer when you register your child.

SPECIAL REQUESTS
All special requests regarding either playing on a specific team, or playing on the same team as another player will be considered but are not guaranteed.  All special requests must be received by January 15, 2016 in order to be considered. Registering early will aid in our attempt to grant your requests. 

REQUESTS TO PLAY UP AN AGE GROUP
Generally, players will play in their own age group, but occasionally players will want to play up an age group.   Any player wishing to play up to the next age group must first be assessed and approved by the Recreational Director by the assessment date at the latest.  If approved, the Recreational Director will then go into the registration database and move the player to the division they will be playing up to. 

UNIFORMS
Our recreational uniforms are intended to be used for one seasonal year. Our seasonal year runs from fall to spring and each player receives one uniform per seasonal year. I.E. - If you participated in the fall season, you will not receive a new uniform for the spring season. Prior to the fall season each year, the recreational uniforms will be evaluated and the vendor and/or style may change. Once the uniform is chosen, we will make a one year commitment to that particular uniform. Due to the rapid growth of our club as well as time constraints, we will not be offering exact sizing. Each team will receive the recommended sizes for their age group. Upon receipt, the team manager and/or coach will distribute among the players according to size.
