First Day of Practice July 23rd, 2018

First day of practice will be Monday, July 23rd. Practices are held at Sharp Springs Park in Smyrna. Directions to the park are located on our map and directions page.

Football will start at 5:30 pm. Cheer starts at 6pm. Both football players and cheerleaders should wear light colored t-shirts and shorts to the first day of practice. Please bring plenty of water for your child. When you arrive at the park, the fields will be marked for your child's age division. Age divisions are as follows:

A Division - 11 and 12 year olds
B Division - 9 and 10 year olds
C Division - 7 and 8 year olds
PeeWee Division - 5 and 6 year olds

For the first week, practice will be held every day (Monday through Friday). The second week will be the same. It takes approximately two weeks for the coaches to create teams. By the end of the second week, you should have a permanent team. From that point forward, practices will be held Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays beginning at 5:30 or 6 depending on your coach. Please always communicate with your coach or team mom regarding practice and game schedules and general questions. If you do not feel you are getting the information you need from your coach, feel free to contact a board member or email [email protected].

Game schedules are not available at this time. Because many leagues are still registering children, it is difficult to know how many teams there will be and therefore schedules can not be created. When they do become available, they are posted on TYFA's main website, www.tyfa.org/SCHEDULES.HTM. We provide a link to this location on our menu (schedules).
