PCLL offers our Plymouth Canton Lightning travel tournament baseball program that is in addition to your PCLL regular season team. These teams are competitive, tryout teams that will compete in weekend tournaments in addition to their PCLL spring baseball team. Players that are selected to a team will begin practicing together this fall, then begin a full winter training program in January 2024 with indoor practices and skill development opportunities. Indoor practices focus heavily on building strong fundamentals and preparing the team for high-level competition in travel baseball tournaments. Teams will participate in 4-6 tournaments depending on the age bracket, with the majority in southeast Michigan starting in the Spring/Summer of 2024.
Our registration fee will be between $800 and $1,200 depending on the number of tournaments the team's coach selects. Players that participate will receive Lightning team uniforms, helmets, personalized team hoodies, personalized team baseball bags, indoor winter training facilities access, and skills training. Compared to local travel teams at $2,000-$4,000, the kids get a lot of baseball and excellent experience for a competitive cost.
NEW FOR 2024
Based on overwhelming feedback from our 2023 Lightning families, we plan to offer additional training opportunities in the winter with specific skill-based sessions and the option to play additional tournaments in 2024.
Birth Dates and Tryout Information
If you think your player is ready to step up to the next level, please come to the tryout for your player’s age range. Please note, travel tournament baseball age ranges are different from standard Little League ages, therefore birth dates between May to September are eligible for an age division that may be different than their regular season division. To determine your player's age for the 2024 Lightning team, please use the age your player will be on April 30, 2024.
Please register with your child's respective age group so we know how many kids to expect and we can provide updates if a tryout gets rescheduled.
