U8 Academy Travel Assessments For Players Born in 2009 Sundays at Hopkins West Jr. High January 8, 15, 22, 29 2009 Boys: 4:00-5:00pm 2009 Girls:3:00-4:00pm The U8 Academy is an intermediate program open to committed players born in 2009who enjoy the game and are interested in playing for the Tonka United Traveling Program. Players will train and play under a combination of professional coaching and Parent Volunteers.TheU8 Academy program will allow players who excel in Recreational Soccer to challenge themselves in a more competitive soccer environment. Cost $500 *includes $100 for Assessment Clinics All players interested in playing U8 Spring/Summer Competitive soccer must register and attend U8 Academy Player Assessments. The purpose of the January sessions is to assess the focus, behavior, and overall engagement level for players to participate in U8 soccer for the Spring/Summer season. Players who are unable to interact positively in team and group dynamics during training sessions may be asked to participate in recreational soccer for an additional season. What Happens after the January Sessions? - Players invited to continue with U8 Academy will receive an email with their team placement and have 1 week to commit by accepting their spot on the team. - Sunday training continues at Hopkins West Jr High through March - 3 total soccer days per week beginning mid April (Girls - Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday) (Boys - Sunday, Monday, Wednesday) - Games/Events begin Late April/Early May - 1-2 additional tournaments (subject to additional costs for families) - Ends late June/early July |
