Mentorship Program
Purpose & Benefits
- Improve knowledge of the game & coaching methodology
- Improve confidence in a non-threatening environment
- Develop “team / Club spirit” within Texas United FC (TUFC)
- Gain experience to become a future TUFC coach (especially U5-U10 teams)
- Serve as role models for young TUFC players (playing skills and character)
- Community service / school voluntary hours recorded (where applicable)
- Preparation for future coaching licenses / modules
Duties include
- Demonstrate skills and techniques to TUFC players aged 5-12 years
- Collect / serve balls to maintain the “flow” of a training session
- Set up training grids / fields as needed
- Move portable goals as needed
- Utilized as a “neutral” player, field player or goalkeeper as needed
Voluntary service requirements
- Players currently playing at the U13-U19 level within TUFC
- Service hours determined by each individual
- Wear training jersey at all sessions (provided by Sports Quest)
- Punctuality
- Enthusiasm
- Desire to learn and to serve
Service times & days
- Monday through Thursday 5.00-6.30 pm
- Monday through Thursday 6.30-8.00 pm
- Monday through Thursday 8.00-9.30 pm
- There are no maximum or minimum levels of commitment
