Coaches Expectations

All coaches will agree to:

1. Represent BUSC in a positive manner at all times.

2. Put the best interest of the children above all else.

3. Treat all players and parents with respect, courtesy and honesty.

4. Supply to each player a detailed schedule to include training sessions, games, tournaments, and special

events. Will also alert players to any changes to the schedule in a timely fashion.

 

5. Never place any one individual’s needs ahead of the team. This includes his/her own ego.

 

6. Not show favoritism, partiality or nepotism. Decisions will be based solely on the players’ abilities, participation and willingness to improve.

 

7. Be at every practice, game and tournament. I will be on time and will expect my players to do likewise.

 

8. Always be at training site 15 minutes prior to start and game field 45 minutes prior to start.

 

9. Provide every opportunity available for players to improve their skills including promotion of the Club’s skills and conditioning camps.

 

10. Commit to improving his or her knowledge of the game and coaching techniques through every resource available.

 

11. Will coach the team assigned by the DOC

 

12. Will maintain or seek appropriate state license for age group coached.

 

13. Coaches who request to coach a different team than assigned by the DOC shall be subject to a pay decrease if the request is granted.

 

14. Constantly push the player to improve and to expose the player to the highest level of play possible.

15. Maintain open lines of communication with the players and parents. Talk to them not down to them.

16. Provide encouragement to players and correct mistakes by action not words.

17. Work with parents to ensure every child has an enjoyable soccer experience.

 

18. Supply to all players and parents a complete list of team rules prior to the start of the season and will adhere to these rules for all players.

 

19. Be very demanding of players and their commitment to BUSC program, and encourage players to work on their own or seek additional help.

 

20. Organize all sessions with the trainer and be an active participant in the training session.

 

21. Work to provide a safe environment to practice, play and compete.

 

22. Demand a drug, alcohol and tobacco-free sports environment for players, and agree to assist by refraining from their use at all BUSC events.

 

23. Lead by example in demonstrating the spirit of good sportsmanship at all times. Profanity, profane gestures, arguing, inciting disruptive behavior by spectators and/or players, or any conduct not in the spirit of good sportsmanship shall require disciplinary action by BUSC.

 

24. Notify parents of any injury to their son or daughter.

 

25. Hold pre-season Parent Information meeting to go over coaching philosophy, roster, schedule of games, and tournaments.
