The Our Lady of the Assumption ("OLA") Basketball Program is run by volunteers of the OLA Athletic Ministry.

The K-2nd Grade Recreational Basketball Program has two sessions.  The Fall session opens mid August and runs 6 weeks from late October to the middle of December.  Sessions are held for 1 hour on Sundays in the OLA Gym.

The Winter session opens early December and runs 6 weeks from end of January through mid March. Sessions are held for 1 hour on Sundays in the OLA Gym.

OLA K-2nd Basketball Winter 2025

Our Lady of the Assumption K-2nd Grade Recreational Basketball Program

The Our Lady of the Assumption ("OLA") Basketball Program is run by volunteers of the OLA Athletic Ministry. The K-2nd grade basketball program is a recreational league run by parent volunteers. The program is focused 50% on skills and 50% games. We will focus on the basics of learning the fundamentals of basketball. Most of the time the kids will be doing activities to learn about basketball and the goal is for them to gain confidence in dribbling, passing and shooting the ball.

K-2nd Grade Winter 2025 Basketball Program Registration begins on December 4th and closes on January 12th

K-2nd Grade (Co-ed) Program (Teams will be divided into Boys and Girls after registration closes):
  • Season runs for 6 weeks from the end of January to mid March
  • Practices/Scrimmages are on Sundays in the OLA gym 
  • Registration Fee is $60
  • Sibling discount - $15 for second child, $15 for third child, $15 for fourth child, $15 for subsequent children signed up at registration
  • If you are new to the program or need a Reversible Jersey the additional cost is $15
  • If you are new to the program or need a Hands-On Training Basketball the additional cost is $15

The program runs 1 hour sessions on Sundays in the OLA Gym as follows:
Week 1 - Sunday 01/26
Kindergarten: 12pm - 1pm     
1st/2nd Grade: 1pm to 2pm       

Week 2 - Sunday 02/02
Kindergarten: 12pm - 1pm     
1st/2nd Grade: 1pm to 2pm          

Week 3 - Sunday 02/09
Kindergarten: 12pm - 1pm     
1st/2nd Grade: 1pm to 2pm       

Week 4 - Sunday 02/23
Kindergarten: 12pm - 1pm     
1st/2nd Grade: 1pm to 2pm         

Week 5 - Sunday 03/02
Kindergarten: 12pm - 1pm     
1st/2nd Grade: 1pm to 2pm               

Week 6 - Sunday 03/09
Kindergarten: 12pm - 1pm     
1st/2nd Grade: 1pm to 2pm       

Please note the following refund processes for cancellations after registration:
A $10 refund fee will be charged for cancellations before the registration closing date of 01/12; a $25 refund fee will be charged for cancellations between 01/13 and 01/26; and no refunds will be allowed after 01/26.

PARENT RUN PROGRAM:  All OLA Recreation programs are run by active parent volunteers. We have a Program Director and Athletic Director who help administer the program, but the actual coaching is all done by parents. Parent participation is essential, and you will enjoy the program more as you become active with the children. All volunteer parents must have completed the VIRTUS Program screening and training before becoming involved with the program. Basketball Registration runs usually from 9/1-9/30 for the Fall Session 1 and 12/4-1/07 for Winter session 2.
