Elkhorn Flag Football is now a proud member of the NFL Flag Football Program powered by USA Football! All teams will be named after an NFL team and the players will have reversible game jerseys the replicate the actual NFL teams jerseys!
Players from Kindergarten to 7th Grade will register here online for the Elkhorn Youth Flag Football season. The cost to play is $159 per player and includes an NFL game jersey and flag belt. A late fee will apply to all registrations after the deadline of March 1, 2023 for the Spring Season.
Once Spring season players are registered, teams in each grade level will be formed and finalized in late March. Teams will be comprised of between 8 and 10 players per roster with an 11 player maximum. We will allow pre-determined teams to play together and that team can include players from any school within the school district, as long as everyone on the roster is in the same grade. If a specific coach is requested, please note that during the registration process. We will do our best to honor all requests, however, there may be instances where it is not possible. Coaches reserve the right to limit the number of players on their rosters. Any player that registers and does not request a specific coach or team will be placed on a team with others from their school if possible. If we do not have enough players from one school to form a team, we then reserve the right to place players onto a roster of kids from another school to ensure that all players have a home and that everyone has a team. Teams can be comprised of all boys, all girls, or a mix of boys and girls and will all compete against one another equally.
Once teams and coaches are identified, we will begin practices in early April for the Spring season. For the spring season, the first weekend of games will kick off in mid-April. All Spring season games are played on Sundays between 11am and 6pm. Each team will play a minimum of 6 total games for Spring, weather permitting. Included in the sessions, each team will play in a Friendship Bowl game the final weekend of the season, with the exception of the top 2 teams from each grade, who will compete for the league championship.
As part of the NFL Flag Program, teams wishing to play in post-season tournaments and playoffs with other NFL Flag programs in the area, will be eligible to compete.
All coaches are volunteers and are subject to an extensive annual background check as well as annual concussion training and certification!
We truly look forward to having you in the program next season.
