Week 1 Results

After a very competitive start to our Spring season featuring three tight games and already an OT thriller, a couple veteran players have immediately made their presence felt!

On Field 2, David DePoi, a ringer out of Stamford & a new member to HKL, busted open a 0-0 game in the top of the fifth with a beautiful 3-run RBI triple. TMB went on to win 6-1, but that was the catalyst needed for our defending Champs to start 1-0.

Over on Field 1, Angie Loffa’s brand new HKL team Ballz to the Wallz found themselves in a very similar game to field 2, a well-played 1-1 defensive battle against Frank Luongo’s brand new team Y U Gotta Breaka My Balls. Ultimately, Ballz to the Wallz prevailed with a 3 run 6th inning to claim their first victory of the season 4-1.

Last, but certainly not least, over on Field 3, we had two veteran teams in Ball Stars & The Biebel Bunch already in mid-season form. With a really close & exciting game, we saw our first overtime of the season end in glorious fashion with a 7-6 victory thanks to a team effort lead by our outstanding players of the week in Ball Stars Captain Nicole Teplitz & fellow teammate Tyler Sandefur!

Congratulations to all our winners from week 1, but it's clear you won't be able to sleep on anybody in HKL this Spring season! 👀
