Player and Parent Code of Conduct:
As valued members of our team and club, both players and parents play a pivotal role in shaping the collective identity of not only themselves but also their team and the broader Total Futbol Academy San Diego organization. To foster a positive and collaborative environment, we expect the following standards of conduct:
Adherence to Established Rules:
Conform to both team-specific regulations and those set forth by Total Futbol Academy San Diego.
Respect for Coach's Authority:
Display respect for the coach's decisions and diligently adhere to their instructions.
Exemplary Behavior:
Exercise appropriate conduct during practice sessions, games, team or club-sponsored events, tournaments, and travel activities.
Communication Protocol:
Adhere to Total Futbol Academy San Diego's 48-hour rule concerning communications, allowing for thoughtful and measured exchanges.
Commitment to Attendance:
Attend practices, games, and tournaments as committed by your team.
Adherence to Travel Protocols:
Comply with the team or Total Futbol Academy San Diego’s travel rules, including participation in team meals, adherence to travel schedules, and compliance with hotel room assignments.
Respectful Treatment:
Interact respectfully with teammates, Total Futbol Academy San Diego members (including parents and family), opponents, coaches, referees, and other officials.
Responsibility for Equipment and Facilities:
Demonstrate responsibility by caring for your uniform, equipment, and the facilities used.
Spectator Conduct During Games:
Coaching by parents or other spectators is strictly prohibited.
Sideline instructions or complaints directed at players or officials during or after a game are not permitted.
Positive vocal support and encouragement are appreciated, while specific instructions such as "Shoot!" or "Pass it!" are discouraged, as they may contradict the coach's instructions.
Voice of Authority:
Only members of the coaching staff are authorized to provide guidance and instructions during games and practices.
No individuals, apart from those listed on official game rosters or club administrators, are allowed to occupy or be in close proximity to the team bench during games.
Respect for Privacy and Space:
Parents and spectators are urged to respect the necessary space and privacy required by coaches and teams to fulfill their game responsibilities.
Understanding of Soccer Rules:
Recognize the potential consequences, such as coach ejection or team forfeiture, based on the conduct of a player, parent, or spectator as dictated by soccer regulations.
Ethical Conduct in Interactions:
Interact with coaches and Total Futbol Academy San Diego staff in an ethical manner, refraining from exerting undue influence over coaching decisions.
Adversarial Communication:
Under no circumstances should Total Futbol Academy San Diego parents engage in berating, yelling at, disparaging, or adversarial communication with referees, opposing players or coaches, Total Futbol Academy San Diego players, coaches, or parents.
Communication Protocol:
Parents and players are encouraged to communicate with the coach and ask questions, ensuring that such interactions occur at appropriate times.
Players are particularly encouraged to express themselves and communicate independently whenever possible.
Total Futbol Academy San Diego supports player-coach or player-parent-coach conferences during suitable times throughout the year.
Coaches provide an annual written evaluation for each player, fostering open communication channels.
It is imperative that all Total Futbol Academy San Diego participants, including parents, uphold these standards to foster a positive and constructive sporting environment. Failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in penalties as detailed in the No Tolerance Policy.
By embodying these principles, players and parents contribute to a positive and harmonious environment within the TFA-SD community, ensuring that our collective actions align with the values of respect, responsibility, and sportsmanship.
