MMLL 2023 Spring Season

TEE BALL: Often, a player's first introduction to Little League® is in the Tee Ball program. Tee Ball is the entry-level division for players league ages 4-6. The experience is grounded in fun, fitness, and fundamentals. Smaller team rosters ensure the best experience possible. As players gain more skill and confidence, they may begin to hit thrown pitches from their kneeling coach later in the season.

MINORS DIVISIONS (A, AA) McDowell Mountain Little league is introducing a new division for our Spring 2023 season. We are restructuring the previous Farm division and introducing our Coach Rescue division (Minors AA) along with a traditional Coach Pitch division (Minors A). These two divisions will be part of the new MMLL Minors system consisting of A, AA, and AAA (Kid Pitch). Coach Rescue is the next step in a young player's development and allows them to experience live pitching and learn more about the positions in the field and game flow. This division is designed for league age 7 and 8-year-olds, as well as experienced league age 6-year-olds. This season, parents will be able to select "coach pitch" (only the coach pitches for the entire season; ideal for experienced LL 6s and newer 7s) or "coach rescue" (halfway through the season, players begin pitching, but are "rescued" by the coach if the pitcher throws four balls; ideal for experienced 7s and most 8s). Families can make this their choice between Minors A and AA during registration for players age 6-8.

NOTEIf we do not have enough registrants to create these two mini-divisions at our A and AA level, all teams will implement coach rescue.

MINORS (AAA)/MAJORS (PLAYER PITCH): Only players pitch at this level. Although some experienced league age 8s may tryout to play in the Minors (AAA) division, it is typically made up of players league ages 9-11. Majors is typically made up of league ages 11-12, but some league age 10s may be considered.

To ensure fair teams, all players in our Minor and Major divisions are evaluated and teams are formed via a draft process. All players are subject to placement within the divisions above based on age, skill, and experience level, with safety and fairness being key. This is entirely the choice of the MMLL Player Agent, with consultation by the Executive Board.

You will receive information about your child's team, coach, practices, and games at a later date. Practices may fall any day of the week except Sundays and are determined by the coach. Games typically take place on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. These details will not be finalized until after registration closes-- Go Monsoons!!!
