I registered my player for the Spring season, does this include the Fall season?

No. Players must be registered for each season separately.

When is registration open?

Spring season registration is open from November-February. Fall season registration is open from May-July.

How do I register my player?

Select Registration from the menu at the top of the page. If registration is open for a season, you will see the listing at the bottom of the Registration page. Select the appropriate division for your player and continue with the process. If this is your first season with YYSL, you will need to create a Sports Connect account before registering (same link).

What is your cancellation policy?

If a registered player is no longer able to participate in the season, the parent/guardian should email the League Registrar. Registrations will be refunded in full if requested before the first game of the season. Requests submitted on or after the first game may be prorated or have the registration transferred to the next season at the discretion of the League President.

Which division is my player in?

For the Fall 2023 season:

Can I register my player for a different division?

The league will consider requests for players to play up a division if requested by a parent/guardian. You will need to register the player in the correct division and enter the request in the Special Requests/Comments field (be specific: "play up to Ux"). The system will generate an email if the player has been transferred to a new division.

Where are practices held?

YYSL uses fields at Cousler Park, Dallastown Area elementary schools, and York Township. Our field usage changes from season to season based on availability and the size of our league. During the registration process, you can indicate your practice location preference; the Division Commissioners strive to accommodate this request first. When do you practice?

Team practices are generally one hour each week in the 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. window. You can indicate which days your player is available for practice during the registration process; Division Commissioners strive to accommodate as many requests as possible. Coaches will send team and practice info before the season starts.

When are games held?

Games are scheduled on Saturdays during each season. Times and locations vary throughout the season based on field availability.

What equipment do players need?

All players must wear shin guards inside soccer socks. Cleats (preferred) or sneakers must be worn during practices and games. A soccer ball and water bottle are recommended for practice. Players must wear a YYSL jersey for games.

What size soccer ball does my player need?

U6 and U8: Size 3
U11: Size 4
U14 and U18: Size 5

Do I need to purchase a jersey each season?

No. Jerseys only need to be replaced when they no longer fit or are in disrepair.

Can I purchase a jersey without registering?

Yes. Email the League Registrar with your player(s) name and jersey size. The $25 jersey fee will be added to your account which you can pay via credit card.

Will I receive field updates?

Yes. Field closure notifications are sent via email and are posted on Facebook and the YYSL website. No updates are provided when fields are open.

Who are the YYSL coaches?

All YYSL coaches are volunteers. Some coaches have been with us for many seasons, while others are just getting started. As our league expands and veteran coaches retire, we will need more coaches. YYSL has opportunities for both head coach and assistant coach positions. If you are interested or have questions, please contact the League Registrar.

Are there any volunteer opportunities besides coaching?

Yes! We are always looking for volunteers to help with events, fundraisers, or to fill vacant Board positions. If you are interested in volunteering with YYSL, contact the League President.
