What are Volunteer Buyouts?

Sunnyvale Little League is an organization completely operated by parent and community volunteers. The league requires that all families fulfill a league level volunteer position and a team level volunteer position The "league level" obligation consists of a job, outlined in the "volunteer positions" link here. The "team level" obligation typically means helping to operate the snack shack two or three times during the season. While not a hard requirement, families with more than one child in the league should work with their respective Team Scheduler to help ensure that these roles are covered. Multi-player families may be asked to have both parents serve a league level volunteer role if there is a need for volunteers. We try to distribute league level roles across families, but our first priority is to make sure that all league roles are covered.

Parents / guardians have the option of buying out of their league and team level volunteer obligations, but please keep in mind that the league as a whole and each respective team requires volunteers in order to function. The buyout options are $250 for the league level position, $150 for the team level buyout, or $400 for both positions. Buyouts will be processed when you register.
