Each year since 1989 Portland-Kaohsiung Sister City Association and Kaohsiung City Government have jointly sponsored a beautiful and often prize-winning float in the Portland Rose Festival Grand Floral Parade. The parade unit also includes a music and dance group from Shu-te High School and a VIP convertible for the Kaohsiung Mayor or a designated delegation leader.
